LOBA RS4/S4 B5 Sports camshafts + kit for mech valve train

These camshafts were especially designed for mechanical valve train and feature a special shape of their lobes in comparison to camshafts made for hydraulic valve train.
Their shape ensures an optimum closing time of the valves if combined with solid lifters.
Computations have shown that combining camshafts made for hydraulic valve train with solid lifters would result in almost 3x the closing speed (1,35 mm / sec at 7500 RPM) and thus exceed the manufacturer of the valve seats' max. allowance (0,5 mm / sec at 7500 RPM).
Excessive wear of valves and valve seats would be the result.
Beside the camshafts the kit includes 30 solid lifters and 30 lash caps.
Mechanical valve trains' advantages over hydraulic valve trains in the RS4 / S4 B5 are:
- More engine-speed strength (up to 9500 RPM)
- Less mass inertia in the entire valve train
- Higher response quality of the valve train
- Elimination of the hydraulic lifters as a potential source of defect
- The steeper lobe shape increases cylinder charging at identical valve timing. Thus more power is achieved at the same boost level.
