Hi All,

I'm seriously pondering one of the new 3.0 B8 S4s. What should I be asking for the following and would I be better to sell it privately or attempt to trade it in? I'm assuming an Audi dealer won't be too interested as it's modified...? I've never sold a car privately - is it going to be a major ordeal?

Thoughts anyone?

Probably looking in the region of £8k for a private sale if it is in good condition, less if you need to sell it in a hurry. Mine is virtually identical spec and mileage and I would expect to get around £7000 for mine, but it needs the gearbox sorting out along with another few bits and pieces.

You haven't mentioned if it's saloon or avant.

I'm on the look out for a decent (modded) S4 if anyone's interested in a part ex for my RS4, or indeed a straight sale, once I've sold mine...

To answer your question, yes, somewhere around £7-8k.

Cheers chaps. It's a saloon. I think now I'd probably prefer the Avant though for the rear space. I'll definitely go for an Avant if I move to the B8.

What about the issue of private sale vs trade in? I'm guessing the former's the only viable option as I can't see an Audi dealer selling a modified B5?

I guess they just wont value the mods, so you'll get book value of a B5 S4 saloon of X year...?

Sell the mods to me and put it back to standard

I have a K04d S4 with RS4 downpipes, Milltek catback, RS4 Clutch, MRC remap and soon to be 18" B7RS4 rims and full B5 RS4 brake setup front and rear.

Car is mint and under 90k miles.....i dont think id let it go for less than 9k...What else would you buy with that spec for the money???

You're slightly over-priced? Not meaning to be negative, just have been looking around recently.

I'd put it at more likely £7-7.5k. If it had more mods then I'd put it above 8k... What colour?

audi will take it, just sell it at auction

they will give you a piss poor price though

Nogaro with genuine Alloy mirrors. Car is perfect and been professionally detailed several times over the last few years. What else would you buy for 9k...seriously?? I have considered selling but cant think what i would change to....

Sounds lovely... The detailing definitely is money well spent.

That's a great spec. Be patient and you will fetch 8k+ if it's in top condition.
