Hi guys.

Been a while since I've posted. Had a year off from the sprinting and hillclimbing last year.

Well, everybody seems to be wanting to make their cars hit greater top speeds. Well, I'm the opposite.

However, I'd like my car to get to 120 mph quicker, although not through brute force.

Does anybody know of / have information about lower ratio gearboxes. Mine is a 2001 facelift B5 S4 Avant.

In sprinting and hillclimbing, acceleration is the name of the game, and although this can be achieved with BHP, it comes at a price and reliability !

For the sprinting and hillclimbing I'm using 17" rims which helps a little, but at the expense of brakes.

If anyone has any views or comments, they would be gratefully received.

RS4 boxes have a slightly shorter 3rd and 4th gear IIRC. Not sure how much quicker you'd get to 120 though.

There are a lot of lightweight 18" wheels out there, i'm sure you could find some lighter than the stock 17's. Think RS4steve had Compmotive rims on his B5 sprint car.

Alternatively, Porsche brakes are an effective brake upgrade which fit under 17's and don't weigh much. DavidT has them fitted and has done some track work with no issues. Think there are a set for sale over on AudiSRS at the moment.
