Fuel Pressure Regulator...

Hi there.

I was wondering if someone might have a Fuel Pressure Regulator for my S4 1999... Its coming up in Vag Com that this might be at fault (running lean on both banks) I have ran a pressure test through and didnt find any air leaks so this is my next option.. Does anyone have one for sale or knows what to replace it with...

I have checked on fleabay and they have adjustable ones... Does anyone know what these are like... any suggestions at all would be great thanks... I remember the stealers wanting around the £70 mark for them... if anyone can steer me in the right direction... any advice would be much appreciated...

The car has been remapped and is currently running around 300BHP

Cheers
Andy

Sure it's not the MAF?
Very Common fault and shows as lean on both banks.

Am pretty sure its not the MAF as it was changed out recently... The fuel filter was also replaced on its last service..

Don't entirely rule out the MAF on the basis that its new - could still be a duff part that's gone wrong. Not likely I know but still possible.
Mine had a replacement engine (previous owner) because the only-done-1000-mile timing belt snapped....

Okay guys... Regarding the new MAF.

I disconnected the MAF for 4 days and have done around 100 miles with it disconnected. The car has run perfectly and seems to be running better than with the MAF connected. I then connected my Maf back up so i could connect Vagcom to run a scan and found nothing. No fault codes at all. Is this normal or does the MAF show its faulty.

I have no lean faults showing or any other fault codes that tell me that the MAF was disconnected...

The MAF was replaced in march this year but i found i didnt get proper air flow when testing it on a run using Vagcom. I got it replaced and this fault (running lean on both banks) are what am getting now. I cant remember if they were coming up before it was replaced the first time... sorry.

So... Does this mean my MAF is faulty again...

Any comments appreciated...

Andy

I am just back from a weekend in Edinburgh with the MAF still disconnected for the journey. I connected it back up so i could run a scan.
There were no fault codes at all. The car ran the best its ran for a while as well. The slight judder at 3600 revs had gone and i averaged 30.4 MPG while travelling at 80 MPH give or take...

I connected the MAF back up and the car sounds a little rough on idle. I suppose this is due to the fact it needs to settle the MAF while it calobrates itself...

Do i need a new MAF as this one is still under warranty and has been replaced before...

Thanks

Andy

a bad maf will not throw any fault codes until it screws an egt sensor or lambda sensor then they will show on a scan. the only way to check a maf is to do a live log and see what its measuring against what it should be measuring.
