Hey,

I recently bought a noggy s4, tuned up by mrc, im sure some of you guys would know it.

Anyway, i love the engine, been done really well.

However, i have two problems, firstly the gearchange, which seems to be a common one!!
I wont go into detail about that, as it in g-werks today for pss9s, so i asked them to have a look at it, when they fit them.

Second problem is the brakes!! Again seems to be a common problem, but i have something weird going on, when u brakes gently it almost feels like the pedal is pulsing, it could be warped or cracked discs, but it doesnt really feel like that.
I was reading that the abs often has problems, could this be what im feeling?

Also aside from the current brake set up, i dont feel that the brakes are really that great, so im looking at doing a porsche caliper upgrade, however i can only find people doing it with the 4 pot calipers, has anyone done it with the 6 pot calipers from the gt3??

I think you will need 18" wheels for the 6-pots (the cayenne brakes are a reasonably straight forward fit onto B5 RS4 discs)

The other option (also needing 18's) is the full RS6 (or B7 RS4 brakes).

Im currently running 19" bbs ch's, with spacers so there shouldnt be a problem with space to fit them.

I was assuming that the b7 set up would be a good one, but sourcing them seems a pain?

Your spacers could bitted poorly? I had this recently and it felt similar. May be wth checking. What size spacers are they?

The 19" CH`s have less caliper space than the 18" CH`s

18" CH`s 8.5x18 et35mm will fit directly over the B7 set up.

Ah right, well thats weird hey, i took them off my b5.5 passat, i dont remember the offset but i think its different anyway.

Any ideas where to get a b7 setup or just sit it out and wait for some to come up, my discs are quite bad front and rear so i need to do it asap, and i dont want to spend out on discs twice!

Other thing is, on the rears, can i retain the caliper but just put an a8 disc on there with an a8 bracket, that the best idea?

Thanks

With the brakes pulsating... Try the rear/front passenger side ABS ring... or hub... Thats what was wrong with mine when i had that problem. The ABS ring was cracked. You will need to replace the whole hub... I think... and its an exchange part.

It's only a cv joint that goes .Easy fix.

Ah ok, so i should get the cv joint checked out?

Whats the talk of the abs sensors not being in right causing a similar problem, is that not correct?

Thanks.
