Brake Caliper...

Post by PcPiers » Tue Feb 24, 2009 2:52 pm

Can anyone help me??

I need to get the rear offside caliper replaced as the rubber seal has perished and it is starting to seize up. I've been to a few places today and they have all asked me if i want the 10mm or 12mm fitting? Does anyone know which i should get?? (call me lazy for not measuring it!!)
I drive an X plate 2000 s4 saloon...
Also, anyone know where i can get the part? Live in north london

I would think they are refering to the diametre of the banjo bolt for the flexy hose you'll need to measure it

If your a dab hand with things like this, you can buy the seal repair kit from Audi (circa £10-15), and then strip, clean, and rebuild the caliper yourself for much less outlay than a new caliper. This is bearing in mind, that the caliper is serviceable.
