I got a loom and the switches from a car which was being broken.

From Kufatec

"Notes:

* The majority of Airbag seats from Recaro are equipped with seat heating mats"

I think we established this wasn't true in our case right?

Yes, Not all Recaros have the wiring under the seat but do they have the heating mats fitted?

As mentioned its 1998 pre facelift model.Climate controller has no seat buttons and i only have 1 blanked off space in dashboard for switches, although front fogs are removed so could utilise this switch location for second seat switch

Sorry, missed that in your original post!

Afraid to say I only know that the facelift ones are built into the climate control.

That's exactly what I did with mine.

Be interested in doing this to mine, but slightly scared of what i'd need to buy.

Currently my dash looks like this:

But thankfully I put my butt onto these:

Russboy, you'd need the climate control unit with the heated switch (not too much on eBay)

Then the loom.

However the big question that's never been answered if whether the Recaro's have the heating elements in them already...

We know they don't have the wiring built in as there's an extra plug on the one's with heated seats.

Any idea what the plug looks like, might remove one of the seats to have a look underneath, not too difficult to do as I had to do it when I fitted my Pioneer Avic X1-R

I think it's been established that the plugs won't be there.

However, you'll know cos they'll be a spare plug hanging down not plugged in to anything!
