Anyone else had to use 'Un-Official' tools on their car?

yeah i like that,a bit of heat from the welder helps aswell,hope that wheel bearing didnt get to hot,or is that why the hub bolt had to come off ?

Luckily Wheel bearing replacement was why it came off. Did lower bushes at the same time as i had to cut one of the camber bolts out.

I have a special chopped, grinded and adapted long 17mm spanner for getting the passenger side egt sensor tight as space is a bit limited! As well as that anther ut down spanner to get to the bolts at the top of my main cts. Also I took my passenger rear wheel ff the other day and found a socket still wedged on the hub nut! Dunno how long hat'd been there!

i have a toolbox full of cut,bent and right angle lumps of metal for special tools!

Not on my s4 but I have had to make all sorts of special tools for my bikes.

A tool to hold clutch basket whilst you undo the bolts, which is simply a long handle and two bolts welded on.
A tool to remove the stupid honda locking nut on clutch baskets. I can't think why they would use this type of nut other than to prevent the home mechanic doing it themselves.

To get to one of the nuts in a SR18DET engine for changing a turbo gasket, the recommended method is to remove the engine. The real method is to take a spanner, heat it up where the neck meets the tool part, and bend it fifteen degrees. Every 200SX owner in the countr that works on their own car has one of these tools in their toolbox.

I've got a nice big 1" air gun for removing the drive shaft bolts .....

Hammer, chisel or angle grinder. Doug will vouch.

My dad once changed the clutch in a tractor with a hammer chisel and a pair of water pump pliers.

After that they re-instated the "replacement of any broken tools policy" they withdrew the week before.
