B6 S4 rear brakes on B5 S4

Hi have seen a few people have fitted this upgrade,
My S4 is 98 so pre-facelift and i have allready sourced some second hand calipers and caliper mounts of a B5 facelift version. Have been looking at the 034 Motorsport spacer plates to run the B6 discs but it looks a bit of a messy way of doing the upgrade, and a lot of disc would not be swept by the pad.

So i need a bit of advice on what parts are required, have got the obvious bit of the discs sorted but what is the part number of the larger carrier and pads required.
and does it still use the Alloy caliper of the facelift S4.
Are the following part numbers correct,

Carrier 8E0615425B,
Pad 8E698451C,
pad springs 3D0615231,

Cheers for any help and advice Paul.

if you want to keep the vented B5 S4 calipers you've just baught, the best approach is to get a pair of 280mm facelift S8 disks (99>) and associated caliper carriers and fit your B5 parts to them. The disks for that setup also cost buttons, as they're used as front disks in many applications.

If you want to go 300mm from the B6, using the B6 carriers, you'll need to use the B6 caliper too as its a completely different design.

I'm not too sure about spacing the caliper out like that with washers though, anyone got any experience of doing that? Surely it will put a LOT more strain on the bolt?

You need S8 carriers, your existing vented S4 calipers (or probably the S8 ones would do if your car is on prefacelift solid rears) S4 pads and the S8 disks.

If you go for the facelift S8, you get 280mm disks, whereas prefacelift S8's use 269mm disks

I dont have the part numbers to hand, but a breakers yard isnt going to deal with part numbers anyway, so just asking for the rear caliper carriers from a >'99 S8 should get you what you need, unless you plan to buy new, but that seems a bit silly to me as they're just hunks of metal!

B5 calipers with B6 discs

Finally got the rears brakes sorted out, in the end went for B5 facelift calipers and caliper mounts and knocked up some plates to space them out to suit 300mm B6 rear discs, and Goodridge flexis, reckon the whole lots cost me about £120, but the old discs and pads where shot and needed replacing anyway.
Only just fitted them and don't have a working handbrake yet as i'm having trouble getting the hand brake cable outer to pull through the plastic collet in the suspension arm, any advice on how to shift it.

Next week, if the bolts turn up i'll be fitting the fronts, Movit 4M6 calipers of an S4 off of Ebay will be running them with Golf R32 345mm discs, the Movit discs that came with the calipers are no use and replacement rotors are over £200 each. So after much searching the R32 discs seem to be OK, Goodridge flexis and EBC Yellow pads, should mean that i've got a good set of brakes sorted for about the same price as the Movit rotors. New ATE blue fluid will be going in when the fronts are on.
