I've recently fitted my AWE boost gauge after it sitting around for months. and i wanted to know if these figures are ok.
When it's on idle the needle reads 20hg, When the cars hot after a good drive then the needle reads 20.5/21hg on idle.
When i press the clutch in on idle the needle reads about 19.5hg
When i put my foot down on boost the needle flick's up to between 18/19lbs/psi for a split second then settles at about 16lbs/psi whilst the boost is on.
Does this sound like it's running good? the car feels fine, no problems that i know of, just want to check all is well.
I have gutted pre cats, full de-cat and air induction kit!

RE: Boost Gauge Question
Sounds fine. Mine runs 18-19inHg on idle.
Boost sounds good as well. Mine only hits 19psi up to the redline and i've got K04's!
The 'tapering' of the boost is normal as this keeps the boost levels within the safe boundaries of the compressor map. That's why people mention 'peak boost' and 'boost at redline'.

Thanks Blue, i can keep smiling then
The reason i asked about the idle figures is because it says it should idle at between 17-20hg, i just thought i might have a small problem somewhere as mine idles at 21/22hg not 20.5/21hg as i mentioned before....Oh well it feels good so it must be good....

My manifold vacuum increases slightly down to 21inHg if I put a tiny bit of throttle on (ie: just enough for the exhaust note to change).
Perhaps yours just idles a little faster than mine. Wouldn't have thought it's anything to worry about at all.
Go and enjoy your car (and try not to stare at the boost gauge for the next few hundred miles!)
