Hi, I ordered a new N75 valve from audi oxford, and the guy took the part number off of my car, and checked it against the system. But what I have been given is not the same.
Is this a superceeded part/alternative or have they messed up?
If it is alternative/superceeded can I fit it with out any trouble?
Part on my car

I cant see how this is going to work. Cause the pipes would be in the wrong place.
From what I can see the part number is the same, except for the last letter.
What are peoples opinions on manual boost control valves vs an N75. Would it be worth returning the part and fitting a manual bleed valve.

That looks like an N75 for a single turbo engine, ie: 1.8T.
Manual boost valves aren't a smart idea on these cars as Motronic engines rely on the N75 to control boost. You could end up with glowing red turbos or worse, melted ones!

That looks definitely wrong to me
Audi list all valves like these as "solenoid change-over valve", so if the parts man is not familiar with the car, it will be wrong.
It doesn't say anything about "N75" or "boost", etc.
Best to go back, and better with a part no. off the old one on your car

They have given you the wrong part
The part you need is 078 906 283 B.
The other valve you have taken a photo of is fitted to the engine on the RHS ( when viewed from the front ) beneath the plastic engine cover and just behind the oil filler cap but i dont know what this does, and is the same part Number minus the 'B'.

Think the other one is the N249 valve.

Out of curiousity, does the S4 and RS4 use the same respective parts for the N75, N249 ?

Make sure you point out it was their mistake not yours.
Wouldn't like to see you paying for a part you don't need.

Oxford Audi are a bunch of W***KERS!
That's twice now in a couple of days, we've had problems with them.

Iv only driven it once since fitting the valve, but the boost is much more stable and responsive, but it still spools up then drops off a few psi on part throttle, no where near as much as before.
Also now its running higher boost, around 25psi. but in 6th with foot to the floor it runs even higher about 27ish!

You might just have a whole new car by the time you've spent all your money on bits for your car.

Hmm maybe it just needed time to settle the new N75 in? its now holding 25psi solid in all gears, with a tiny bit of fluctuation. But it is much more responsive now.
