Bootlid Problems!

Post by Mentor » Tue Aug 19, 2008 6:31 pm

Has anyone got any ideas. Bootlid keeps registering as open on the dash display. Gave it a good slam but it hasn't cured the problem. As a result the alarm will not activate. Is anyone familiar with this problem? Thanks.

Not had the problem myself but my money would be the catch/switch inside the lock itself that has failed and therefore keeping the light on!

Not sure if they are availble as an individual item, my guess is that you will need a new lock/catch.

You will probably also be illuminating the boot light,so watch that your battery doesn't go flat

the boot light will time out and turn out after a while, will definitely be the microswitch in the catch mechanism

If it's not the micro switch, then there's a good chance it will be a break in the short rubber wiring loom to the bootlid, the one that you see near the hinge with the boot open..
