Help! Big vibration from rear diff!

Usually a bit of vibration goes hand in hand with some of those top shelf DVD's you can buy down seedy back streets.....unfortunately this time its coming from the back of my car. It happens on tight turns (coming out of junctions etc) when i accelerate gently. Its a kind of hard vibration which sounds like its coming from the rear diff. Can anyone help as this seems like its going to be expensive?!

have you checked the prop shaft bearing?

This is normal, it is the centre diff, all mechanical quattros make that noise when turning sharply at very slow speed. Don't worry !

Not noticed it being this bad though thats all. Can't believe how paranoid i get with this car!

I did the same when i first got mine!!! Especially on full lock at slow speeds - luckily the forum put my mind at ease.

Just remembered that i had an 034 rear diff mount fitted a week and a bit ago (along with gearbox and engine mounts), so the vibrations are probably stronger coming through the chassis now. Cheers for all the replies guys!

I should have asked... I just bought a 2nd hand rear diff for mine as I thought it was knackered.
It is leaking oil from the driveshaft oil seals tho... and the filler plug is welded in and stripped out so I needed a new one anyhoo.
Good to know its a normal noise tho!
