I have what sounds like a blown speaker/rattle noise from the rear shelf even at really low volumes.

Iv taken speaker out and it looks fine, no tears anywhere and its all intact. But its definitely the speaker making the rattly noise (still makes the sound when the speaker is held in mid air away from anything to vibrate)

Any ideas?

Got the same problem my self, N/S/R bose speaker. Had a look and found nothing. Just going to replace it. £100 for a new one.

Can you fit other 6.5inch speakers in their place, iv just wired in some VIBE SE-K60s that are in boxes so I dont have to put up with the rattling, and they sound good.

Do I need to get adapters? Will I get any problems running them because they are 4ohms?

Yes, this all sounds very familiar and its very annoying too.
I undertsand that the B(l)OSE spkrs work at 2ohms and that an adapter is needed; also that thier signalling is different - invoking the chassis for a ground - so hooking up speakers direct to the BOSE amp is supposedly a no-no.
I am experiencing this same problem... just hadnt decided what to do about it yet
I wouldnt mind hearing how some of you guys out there with more knowledge on the system would sort this...

How do you get the speaker out?

Can you order a replacement from the local Audi dealer?

to get to the speakers you need to remove the rear seat squab then the rear side bolsters (tab at the bottom of the bolster needs bending up the pull the bolster up and away) you can then lift the parcle shelf up and away from the rear screen, its held by 3 poppers at the front.

from what i can tell it might be the rubber buffer bit at the edge of the cone making the noise... not sure how or why though

I had the same problem there is a quick fix for this
I took some super glue and glued the edge of the cone the sound is caused by the slightly lose cone once the cone is tightly superglued on it will be as good as new I aud advisesuper glueing the other side too while ur at it as mine went a month later soo had to take my car apart again

Iv just taken my speakers back out, and put glue around the edge of the cone and the dust cover and it no long makes the noise and all is good! must have been a tiny bit that had come unstuck.
