bagged an S4

Post by dubwhizz » Fri May 02, 2008 2:48 pm

thought id just add a thread with a ropey pic of the S4 that I picked up yesterday.

its a 116k one in i think azure blue, std except for MRC remap and Milltek Dual exhaust.

goes like stink and so it should. we put vag com on it and measured it at 261kW which equates to about 355bhp. that sounds like a hell of an increase for just a map.

I'll get some decent pics later.

Have you measured the peak MAF reading as this what MRC use to gauge bhp?

If its a maf reading then 261 / 0.8 = 326.25 so about 326BHP
So now do some more logs to check fats time and check fuel trims.
sure someone can tell you the blocks to check.( in work and not sure off top of my head)

Welcome to the site. :jump_clap:

thanks for the welcome, im the bloke who emailed you about 3 weeks apart about your black one.

where did you get your conversion from fella? just read this... http://www.autodaily.co.uk/porsche_reve ... olets.html and they state 261 is 355. so im guessing you're saying that 261 on vag com isnt 261 kw?

Its sort of taken that its the maf figure / .8 = bhp (estimate).

fair enough. i think we're wrong in our assumption that the maf figure = Kw then.

Yeah - Its just a measure of how much air the car is taking in.

Do a FATs log.

And it's a little bit optimistic, especially the more power you have. Saying that, 326bhp is not too far off with an MRC map and cat-back - need to get them pre-cats removed though!

If its been to MRC - might have had the Milltek fitted and downpipes gutted at the same time. Could be worth calling to see if they can check or get your head under and have a look.

Only if they had been cut open thinking about it. Sometimes its done without having to cut into them. Best to ask if MRC can check for you in there records. If not I am sure they can do it for you.
