S8 mirrors

Anyone know if the S8 mirrors of a 98 car can be made to fit a b5 s4/a4 (pre or post face lift as i have both types of mirrors). I know the bases are different but wondered if the housings will fit as the s8 mirror glass is listed with an 8do part number !!

mmmmm... I would like to see folding mirrors on a RHD B5, rare, but I think there may be some out there..... who knows..... retro fit?

I didnt know the s8 mirrors were folding . Ive tried to get the proper b5 mirrors but they always seem to fetch a lot of money and i didnt like the look of the plastic ones like you see on ebay and then these s8 mirrors have turned up cheap so i think they may be worth a try !!

The S8 had folding mirrors maybe as part of an option package.
The 1998 S8 I am breaking has these folding mirrors.

Thanks for the offer but the mirrors ive been offered are really cheap,have you heard of anyone doing this conversion before ??

JeffW has folding mirrors on his Goodwood Green RS4, the previous owner did quite a few mods to the car.
Maybe send him a PM . . ?

It didnt go quite according to plan as the o/s mirror was just a standard plastic one painted silver but at least i got the n/s. The mounts are different so i might just use the chrome housing on my mirrors. Hiow do you tell if the one i have got is a folding type or not ??
