Wrong badge on the back?

I was scouring the classifieds in the usual places for an S4 to buy and found this, but is the badge on the back the right size? should the tow bar concern me too much? I wouldn't normally buy a car that has one fitted.

Some owners just choose to fit a more up to date badge, it's nothing to worry about. Both the front and back ones are from B6/B7 and look the right size.
Again, a towbar isn't really anything to get too concerned about. A number of S4 and RS4 owners have them fitted.
Might be wise to ask the seller who did the remap(most remaps give over 300bhp) and when it was done.
There's no mention of service history/paperwork, so that's something else to follow up as well. If in doubt, go and view it with someone who is familiar with these.
Just checked the reg plate on DVLA and
www.AskMID.com and neither have a record of it, although this doesn't necessarily indicate something dodgy, could just be missing from their databases. Just another thing to bare in mind, get a HPI report if you're interested in the car. The seller will probably be happy to pay half the cost as an act of goodwill.

Thanks for that, I have asked the seller for a more detailed description of the service history and the name of the company that did the conversion.
As for the viewing I was wondering if anyone on here has anyone in mind? rather than an AA ro RAC inspection I'd like to know of someone with this model at the forefront of their knowledge who may be willing to do an inspection, for some pound notes of course!

The auction has just finished without a sale, so I'm going to have a look, anyone know of someone who might be qualified to come and inspect it for a few bob? I'm not going to commit yet but I need to be prepared.

Many many thanks, When I get to the point of contact with him I'll be in touch, only if it's convenient of course!

Contact made.
The conversion was done by Revo and is switched on and off by means of the ESP switch. Can I get this off? or does anyone rate the Revo upgrades, from experience I'm thinking I don't want it on.
It has towed a caravan weighing 1425KG with its factory fitted tow bar 5 times.
Service history - to 68,000 miles at South Hereford garages then up to now at Fitzharris VW Audi specilaist in Abingdon where the owner works.
Cambelt changed at 49,000 then again at 90,000 because of a noise which turned out to be the waterpump.
He thought all S4s were imports because it mentioned Bergen in the front of the service history book somewhere.
Any alarm bells ringing?
I'm going to have a quick look in the week then with some help I may arrange a viewing later on.

Fitzharris VW Audi specilaist in Abingdon.
Has anybody heard of or used these people before?

S44 SAE used to live in Southampton near me. I drove it in late 2006 when I first started looking for mine. It was too much money at the time - vendor wanted £12k+ IIRC. Drove really well then. No remap back then. Vendor was moving to Essex and looking to free up some cash as had got himself stuck owning 2 houses!
Don't know anything of the recent history.

That all seems to match up. It's on it's second owner and he bought it from Chelmsford.
I think it might be a good buy.
