RS246 Live!

Post by Andiroo » Fri Feb 29, 2008 12:10 am

Ok guys, time to put your cocks on the blocks.

This event, http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... ic&t=68083
welcomed by many as a step in the right direction for RS246, is about to die on it's ARSE because we haven't got the numbers :( Meant to be a fun day out for all S & RS drivers with a bit of everything - without the formality of a normal trackday, coz it's us running it

I've pm'ed many of you on the current list of interested 'yet to email MarkB', and some replies received (thanks guys  ) but not that many.

It's your choice........

The alternative is that it dies now, or goes ahead as 'part' Audi/part t'other which will no doubt decrease the already piss-poor numbers as it won't be an Audi only event.

What do WE do guys?

Cheers,

Andiroo

Btw I've posted this everywhere, so Crew please delete as you guys see appropriate

As much as I would love to go, I ain't got the cash to do so.
Its not so much the £150, its the other £600 on wheels so that I can get my brakes on the car which I would need for going on track.

Come on guys...

i know andy has put a lot of work and to say the least his heart ..... and the rest of the crew
into making this an event for 246 members, and then to audi marques...
lets not let this go tits up... and end up having to let tom, dick, and harry come just to make it happen.

you would be so pissed if you had to wait in line behind a fleet of saxo and corsa drivers ....

so as andy has said ..... lets pull our fingers out our arses and make this happen....

I would say stock brakes will be ok if you just don't go crazy using absolute 100% braking for every slow corner. If you limited yourself to say 4 fast laps in a row I think they would cope.

Get £60 of Castrol SRF fluid in there (£30 a bottle, one to flush and one to fill) and I think you would be ok so long as you dont abuse them.

All brakes can be made to fade and smoke on track, you just need to know where the limit for yours are.

I agree with Graham, upgrade the fluid and you will be fine. I did trackdays with my standard brakes & the fluid is the weakest link.

In terms of the RS246 live event, we desperately need to get the numbers up quickly to make it happen. We have put a lot of effort into creating the best possible event for the forum.

Please support it if you can.

What may be handy is to have a summary of the event details, accomo etc etc... as it stands the post in the forum is so long I have not had chance to go through it entirely.... but I am keen. If the dates suit I am in.

I still can't guarantee which country I'm going to be in, but I'd be happy to pay more than the 10 quid asked to just spectate. I'd put down 10 to reserve a place for spectating, with the expectation of another 20 quid either closer to the time or on the door or something.
