Anyone got any sources. Did you send the standard one off for lightening and return, or was it an exchange, or a completely bespoke flywheel, possibly requiring a non OEM clutch set-up.

Can anyone recommend a good set-up. I would prefer a solution that's not too intrusive (chatter or humming).

Tanoga Single mass lighten flywheel with a RS4 clutch. Run this for over 2 years.

The gear 'chatter' around 2k rpm does not bother me. Come & have another drive if you want mate

David, I'll use any excuse to have a blast in your car. It gives me an excellent benchmark of where my car needs to be.

Fidanza might be cheaper. It weighs about 5.5 kg. It is ok, only a little chatter below ~2000 rpm. Take off is very easy.

I'd like to get a slightly lighter clutch but for me it would drive me nuts hearing the gear chatter.

Any other options?

Do they all chatter? How refined do they get?

What are the gains typically?

What sort of cost are we talking?

What is the effort to fit and what sort of additional effort are we talking if you were already replacing the clutch?

Anyone had a lightweight flywheel on a K03 S4?

I have installed a few Fidanzas. The engine revs more easily, but I haven't noticed so big difference when driving (haven't done any logging, just normal driving). Of course it helps, when it's more than halve the weight of the original.

It doesn't give any more power or torque, it just "releases" it from the engine. (if you don't change the boost or timing, how could it anyway...?)

One Fidanza is now on eBay, 165£. Those are quite cheap, but those work ok!

Installation is quite easy when the clutch is out, but those bolts have to damn tight when installing. You just need some muscle

Having decided to go the K04 route I now have a slight obsession with lag and response so I am looking at reducing mass where possible, and within a budget that doesn't make me whince too much.

I have been looking at the 034motorsport steel flywheel that comes in at 15lbs. It's a couple of lbs heavier than the aluminium wheel but should suffer less chatter. However it does not work with an RS4 PP and would requires a Sachs or Spec alternative. We are talking about a grand landed cost

For me the Tanoga flywheel works well. running one of Dougs 6 paddle clutchs with it now.

Blimey Dazzer, that sounds like big money to me, the Tanoga/RS4 Clutch route would be nearer half that.
