rs4 downpipes or gutted s4?

hi guys, was thinking about getting rs4 downpipes but cant be arsed with making link pipes and fukin about with clamps so was just for guttin my standard s4 ones.
wont be taking the car to stage 3 so is there any point ?

how much would you expect to pay for rs4 dps? (second hand)

oh forgot to mention that a full 3" cat back vibrant system will be goin on at the same time

theres some rs4 dps on ebay at the moment with gutted precats and no reserve...

Deffo go for gutted rs4 dps and get an exhaust system that has the same diameter! S4 main cats 400 cpi and the rs4's are 200 cpi like the milltek dp's! Cheap and effective option.

All I'll say is this job is massively labour intensive, what down pipes you fit makes no difference (other than mating it to the rest of the exhaust), just make sure you are happy as you dont want to have to repeat it.

I shall be DIY'ing my RS4 downpipes soon.... will be posting a guide and piccys

Then i will fit the rest of the RS4 system :D

the listing finished yesterday. bigandyw bought them for his rs4 , maybe his std rs4 dps will be up for grabs?. see his exhaust posting in the classifieds. :biggrin3:

just put rs4 pipes on mine with no precats, running a 3" miltek system, the link pipes are only 2 straight bits of pipes 63mm o/d if i remember correctly, this pipe slotted over downpipes and inside exhaust nicely. just welded up spare lambda holes, all done in 5 hours including removing pre cats.

was this done on a ramp?

what did you have to remove?

yeah done on a ramp, exhaust, dts to drop rear of the subframe, g/box mounts, heatshields, one of the egt"s disconnet the lambda plugs, bit of fiddling and swearing and out they fall.
