Hello guys.
I don't know this may be a good sticky if the replies are good as it will help many others. (project stop a leek)
Since owning my S4 I have been glued to the forum reading as much as I can about the cars.
The bottom line is these cars die quite quick with a boost leek, I have read so much, like peoples cars going bang with new turbos after just 2000 miles.
this scares the cra* out of most people and I can understand why, the cost can be bankrupting.
What I want is to try to make my pre-facelift as safe as I can from the dreaded monster boost leek. So I am trying to put a list together of the things that are needed and what hoses need to be changed for maybe silicone or whatever.
so far I have this
1) A leek tester
2) F hose (silicone?)
3) some say arp by pipe
can people please add to this and advise with links or part numbers what else is needed.
Thank you
Darren

1) A leek tester
Some Welsh dude ... ?
Just joshin' .... get new DV's and a new TBB in addition to the silicon f-hose. Also check, and replace, various other hoses (FPR, boost/vacuum hoses to DV's etc...)

Just to add, s4 uses 710A's DV's, the DV's you want are the 710N's. Also, replace the 1 way valves and spider hose.

FPR = fuel pressure regulator
is that the pipes that go to the unit... or the actual unit
sounds expensive
Thanks guys

Nah - just a rubber hose from the back of the intake manifold to the FPR unit - if you've still got the factory fitted hose then it's probably brittle and a bit shagged - easy job to replace for bugger-all cost.

Thank you sir.
I have noticed that on other forums some people are using autobahn88 hoses (like samco)

and have said the quality is quite good, any views?

Yea i had the whole set on My old s4 when i had my new turbo’s. They are defiantly better than standard, and are great value. When MRC's Doug pressure tested the car there was only 1 leak, which was on the original bi pipe all the autobahnn pipes were fine and have been ever since. Which is good as it is pushing 346bhp on RR. Also my friend has a set on his P1 Scooby and VRS Octavia, all is well with them and they are both remapped!!
