Only vagcom will tell.....

Hopefully it will be just be a dodgy connection under one of the front seats

I have airbag light issues in mine too... started when i picked it up... driving abck from coventry, light comes on. Get home, borrow a VAG com and clear it and it stays away for ages until misses has to drive me home from footy (bit of concussion, didnt fancy driving!) and moves the seat, light comes back on.

Car goes in to Audi for a service and they say no worries, we'll whip the seat out and sort out the connection for you. Ok, but they only do the ruddy passenger side! sure enough, next time the driver seat moves light comes on. I could get the drivers seat out and sort out the connection but i really cant be @rsed at the mo lol... bad i know.

Here's the odd bit though, when Woody did my most recent service, the light was on but no error codes present relating to airbag... so couldn't clear it.... answers on a post card?!

I would be willing to almost bet it was the driver or passenger airbag. Disconnect them spray some wd40 in there and re-connect. It was the single continual bug bear with that car.

I`ve seen a few of these were the switch to turn passenger air bag off plays up,and the customer hadn`t used it.
There was an issue with the wiring to the seats. The dealers were replacing some off there wiring under the seat and fitting new connectors.

Had my air-bag light reset last month for £30 - coudn't ignore it any more! Below are their comments:

"The fault coded the airbag system found a fault code in the system for
the side airbag igniters; passenger side, cleared the code and re-tested
found the code never came back, looked at the live data found it to be all
ok. Road tested found the light never came back on.

Advise the light may come back on if so the side airbag will need testing."
