Need a mechanic in Epsom area to fit cv boots on my S4?

Post by Russboy » Wed Sep 05, 2007 3:56 pm

Anyone know of anyone?

Don't suppose they have to be Audi technicians really as I can't imagine it's that difficult a job???

Managed to get the genuine Audi boots from a mate who works at a dealership for £30 for the pair, so that was a result.

Just noticed a bit of oil/grease on the inside of the wheels so thought i'd check it out.

Ideally like the same person to check as I may have an oil leak as well, or it may just be where the grease is being thrown about poss hitting the underside of the engine, heating up and dripping.

Cheers,

Russ

Try S4woody (Simon). He is not far from you and knows S4's inside out.

Well oil leak is sorted, bloody sump plug was so loose I could undo it with my fingers, thank god I checked! May well put a new plug and washer, well maybe just washer as a precautionary measure, but lucky it didnt come out when I went to Brighton and back last Tue! Trader (ish anyway!) I bought it off had done an oil change just before I bought it, think he needs to brush up on his mechanical skills!!

S4Woody(Simon) is coming round tomorrow to have a look at the cv gators, hoping I can persuade him to change them there and then as I have my new brakes and wheels to go on there now, dont want to fit them till all the gunk is gone from under the arches!

Cheers Simon, very kind. Should of introduced you to my mate Ian, ex BMW service manager, moving to Dubai soon to work, but still gets the BMW discounts etc, nice fella too. Also only recently moved from BMW and really knows his stuff can virtually quote every blood part by number!

You missed the final "bolt up", fecking wheels touch the calipers, even with the 35 offset. So i'll try and source some cheap 5mm spacers from halfrauds tomorrow, but H&R spacers are already en route, hopefully Tue or Wed.

shame as i've still not seen the car on the deck with the new rims, also got limited time tomorrow, on the piss courtesy of the missus and her contacts at Magic Fm, ok gotta sit in Regents Park and listen to Simply Red, but we're in the hospitality tent with the celebs, bring on the champers and expect to see Russ making a tit of himself, most likely in the Sun on Mon!
