Spark plugs

Evening all,

How far do you need to go with modding your car before you need to run a colder spark plug? My S4 is running 320bhp and will need a spark plug change at next service, experience has taught me only to buy NGK, so I'm wondering if I should go with the standard coldness PFR6Q plugs or the colder PFR7Q plugs normally specified for the RS4 - bearing in mind that whilst I drive my car hard, it's still a road car and not a track car. Which would I be better off with?

Cheers

From memory, the lower the number the colder the heat range.

In the days of "shineydave" you would change from say a N9Y to N7Y to get a cooler plug.

The plugs you want are Bosch Platin F5DP0Rs..... I've got these in mine and are the plugs reccommended and fitted by MRC

In the days of "shineydave"
Indeed, we always used to insert a colder plug in ye olde horse and carraige for reduced risk of detonation in my day.

actually there was a couple of young 'uns out on the road into sherbourn yesterday trying their luck against we older hands. when we parked up and took our helmets off they commented that they couldn't beleive they'd been knacked by the Satans Pensioners, lol, experience beats the exhuberance of youth once again

Do you need to check/adjust the gap on these F5DPOR plugs.
or just fit em as new.
