Engine stuttering...

Hi Fellas,

Need your opinion...

The last couple of times i've driven the car and have been a little spirited, upon lifting off the accelerator the car stutters (feels like the engine wants to jump out) even though I have a DTS fitted.

Only happens when I boot it and then lift off quickly. The temp today was 15c so i do not think it is down to the air temp....any ideas what could be the cause ?

Cheers
Jem

Sparkplugs, might be worth changing them if you haven't done them in a while.
Or it could be fuel related like the filter on its way out or your injectors.

Vag com your car and see what comes up. That really your first move.

Un-educated guess I'm afraid as I'm a bit of a mechanical-<beep>, but I'm pretty sure that if you lift off the throttle and the engine keeps going for a sec, then it's a sign of a diverter valve fault.
I'm ready to be corrected though and willing to learn, so shoot me down if needsbe  :boots:

Hmmmmm, didn't think of that one. You're a more sound mechanic than me Ads4.

Mine does this when letting offer accellerator in low gears, blame it on the clutch. However I did change the fuel filter and it helped it alot in 1st/2nd.
I have a pack of spark plugs here as well, will try them.
