73K on original K03s (removed for turbo upgrade - not because there was a problem with them)
Currently 5K on MRC K04s

Question is far too simplistic if you don't mind me saying. Some factors in how long they last include:

Specialist healthcheck regularly -pressure test. VAG-COM scan & logging

Type of oil used

Time / mileage between services

Chipped ? who by and to what power

Other engine related upgrades - intercoolers, exhaust etc.

Common points of failure resolved (Tbb, F-hose, leaky dv's maf etc.)

Type of extreme use - trackdays etc

Type of standard use - motorways or school run etc.

Warm up / cool down procedures

I can tell you exactly what caused both my K03 failures, first at 40k miles - the EGT's the map reached, second at 73k miles - F-hose failure on rolling road at 5700rpm. I would descibe myself as extremely careful in looking after turbos, but its not always mis-use that ferks them :(

Question is far too simplistic if you don't mind me saying.

As in now do you mean my last change or what will I be using at my next change?

Maybe I will change my mind who knows.

Depends whether I decide to buy it from a cash and carry or from halfrauds.

Mmmm oil question well I could talk about this for hours…..

Or I could give you a quick answer but then this is a forum so lets all join in and talk about all the different oils we could use…

Oh sh*t I have just been band!

Last comment is a bit uncalled for. The moderators on this site work hard to keep the quality of posts up and manage the activities of users. If you could see both sides, you would realise that. All we ask is that you behave reasonably.

Is difficult to phone while i'm at work hence the email... are they still having email probs? i night be able to help if they are.
