S4 recaros into an A6

Bit of a strange one this one and possibly not the right forum to get the best response but does anyone know if the A6 and A4/S4 front seat mountings are the same?

If not I'll have a full set of recaro interior for an avant for sale!

They look different on the ETKA, specifically how the front of the seat mounts to the floor.

VAGCat is down at the minute so I can't look and compare part numbers.

IMHO It ain't looking good.

What is it you've got? A6 Avant Recaro Interior or A4 Avant Recaro Interior? - I'm a tad confused as to which, I'm guessing you have the A6 interior whilst you have an A4 / S4 car.....

Helps alot that does! Although Dullard here had somehow managed to miss the blindingly obvious post title - what a muppet

Looking at the parts catalogue (Vagcat came back up) that's a big fat no. The A4 has two mounting rails and the A6 has one. Compare and contrast these two images.

The first is the A4/S4 - see the two mounting rails? The second is A6 / S6, only one rail and in the centre.

I used a 1999 S4 Avant and 1999 A6 Avant to compare between - if you give me the exact model years I can try and give you a more definative answer.

Interior has come from a 2000 S4 and A6 would be 2001.
From the pictures it doesn't look like they are compatible though especially the different shapped arms that go into the rails on the iside of the sills and transmission tunnel.

Just had a further look at the pictures.
I don't know where those 2 rails come from because my car only has the centre rail in th top of the 2 bases in the A4/S4 diagram.

What model year is your car? - I can check more specifically then - I just guessed at 99 year S4 / A6


Just had another look at vag cat, the diagram for the A4 / S4 actually shows two seat bases - the middle one is for normal seats whilst the bottom is for: "seat frame / for models with electric operated seats / adapt with workshop equipment
left / PR-Q1A/Q1D"

So, I'll reverse my opinion regarding A4 - A6, as long as both cars have the same type of seats originally ie both electric or both manual - then you should be ok.
