Bought one this week but won't have it till friday week. I went for one with fsh and loads of receipts to back it up.
I'll let you know how it goes once i get it.
My advice with any car is spend as much as you can.

My advice is buy one which has been owned by an enthusiast.
Full Audi service history sometimes isn't as good as specialist service history. When buying a car, i've always gone for quality over quantity. So if you find an older one thats well looked after, don't automatically write it off becuse you've seen newer......

I did my reseach for 6 months before buying one. What I can recommend is to go through the first 20 or 25 pages of this forum and read the problems everyone's had. Then start combing the classifieds here. when you see one you like, find every post the owner has made, and read the problems he's had, and what they've done to it. Everything else is the same as buying any used car.

I can also recommend the engine guide in the downloads section. If you have any specific questions about something, tag them on to this post - someone will answer - generally, everyone's very helpful and enthusiastic here.

Was looking for about 8 months for the right one. Saw loads of rough ones about. Traveled 400 miles to get the right one. My advice is hold tight and get exactly what you want and dont be rushed.
