Boost Gauge v Actual Boost

Post by BigDaz » Thu Mar 15, 2007 10:07 am

I have a boost gauge fitted as per the AW giude, it reads 17 psi boost when at WOT but lately I dont think the car is boosting properly, no rush of torque etc.
Could I have a boost leak and still show all Ok on the gauge?

Cheers

Daz

Depends how bad the leak is. The turbo's will just work that bit harder to still give you the requested boost, until they get to the point they can't supply enough air. This is normaly soon before they fall apart

Where did you take the feed from - the fuel pressure regulator?

I would get your BPV's & MAF checked and (as MarkB alludes to) have your intake pressure tested.

Boost line feed is from back of the engine - cant remember exactly t pieced into a small pipe. MAF / 710n / bi pipe & f hose all replaced less than 6 months ago

Oh, & VAGCOM showed no faults ? What are the blocks to log for MAF & boost?
