Hi there,
I joined the forum a while back, it's only now I'm nearly in a position to buy an s4. I was just wondering would i be mad to buy any thing with over 100k miles on it. And what expenses would I be looking at around this mileage. I intend buying a 1999-2000 facelift model.

i bought mine with 130 thou on the clock and was bitten by a few problems that vag-com would have picked up and would have saved me a good grand but its right now and still stock and goes very well so as long as its been looked afterthey are fine but check it with vag-com before you buy it and get all the faults rectified.. good luck

agree with craig on that one, if the cars been well looked after then the mileage shouldnt make too much difference, it will just make it cheaper to buy :-)

Thanks guys, it's just trying to persuade my wife has been difficult enough, I don't want it costing money straight away. I'd never hear the end of it. Would any audi garage carry out the vag-com and what do they charge?

yes an audi garage will do the VAGcom check, but they will charge. not sure how much. have a look on here if there is anyone from your area with it, or you can buy a cable off ebay for £15ish and use the limited functionality previous versions of VAGcom.
