Strange Turbo problem!

Hi I went to inspect the S4 in a garage and they found water in a turbine.
They resolved the problem and when I drove the car back it had an AWESOME power and torque, exactly like 1year before (when I told the garagist to inspect my car), but now the car has lost that punch (again, this is exactly the same what happened last year), it's really fast and everything but NOT BRUTAL.

When I would floor it (when I got out from the garagist) it would unleash such a great power...now it's not the case.

Do you have any idea what could the problem be ?

Thank you

If it was me I would take back to the garage and tell them it has lost power. How did they fix the water in the turbo problem?

Sure it's water and not oil? Is there water in the intake manifold? Is there a honking great puddle under the bonnet somewhere? Are you anywhere near someone on the VAG-COM register (linked at the top of the forum)? If so, compare your MAF sensor readings against some other members readings (post them here if you can't find any). See what other people say to monitor.

How long has it taken to get back to this condition?

Water in the turbo would evaporate in seconds... it gets so hot in there... unless maybe it was the cold side? I think that still gets hot enough to evaporate.

Indeed sounds like limp mode... need to get it to someone who knows it well enough to see what is causing the trouble.

Sounds to me like your garage is taking the pi$$ honestly... water in a turbo, never heard about it and I can't even think of how it could possibly happen... my advice: go to a different garage!!!

I am not sure if it was water or OIL, but they "fixed" it and really, the car had awesome power. But now nothing... It's really fast but not fast as it should be.

I will manage to get Vag Com and see what is the problem.

MCB, they got near the turbos and I don't know how but they "resolved" the problem. They may have done a bad repair but the car was truely incredible after that and I guess I got the same problem once again (maybe?).
What is "Limp" mode ?

Rikrose, I will check out what you said.

It would help me a lot if somebody could answer.

I tried to reach maximum speed and I feel like 240km/h (150mph) is almost MAX. And it should do at least ~170mph.

The car has good power when in 3rd from 2'500 to 4'500 rpm (when you reach 5'000rpm you just don't have to go to the redline since it loses it power)

They may have just cleaned the MAF sensor or something to that effect.

How long did it take to go to back to normal.

Try disconnecting your MAF and then driving the car for a while.

Not sure if them cleaning your MAF will cause it to temporarily give it power. Its just a guess.

S2tuner, I'm in Geneva.

Saf, how may I disconnect the MAF sensor ? Do you mean I should try to drive the car while it's disconnected ?

When they fixed the car, it was awesome during -let's say 100km maximum. When you floor it the torque makes it jump it was superb.
