Crashed my s4 just before christmas, went to vegas for new year which was awesome and took my mind of things, got back and found out the insurance has witten it off. im gutted, There was no panel damage just front bumper, radiator, headlight, rear wheel and side skirt and was expecting it to be repaired, but my fault so only myself to blame.

Anyway,

Thinking of putting my private plate on retention to sell does anybody know how much it would be worth?

I know im not going to get what its worth from the insurance, so will need to look for a new car, will prob get around 7k but hopeing for alot more.

Any ideas what to get?

Looking at Accord type R's has anybody had any experiences with them?

Thanks

Will have to start modding all over again and will need something cheaper to insure and run, plus there is so much that can go wrong and parts that may need replacing which i just cant afford at the moment. Would not rule one out in the futer though

dunno why h8cak just after something that i cant spend £1000's on moding/repairing and around 7k.

open to suggestions, prefer a 4dr saloon with reasonable performance and reliable.

Not sure what CAT the car is but think it was twisted, garage estimated 5k, also rear door didnt line up too good so presume something was twisted insurance assessor said beyond economical repair.

Dunno how much my insurance will go up by either.

gonna need something cheaper for a year or so while i sort out my cash flow christmas and holiday has skint me out.

And really need a car to get to work, borrowing a 2.5v6 cavalier from tomorow but only till it is sold

Sorry to hear about your news, hope nobody was injured.

May not be your cup of tea, but i had 3 wrx impreza's (97, 00, 02 )before my transition to the s4 and enjoyed them all especially the last model which was fitted with the prodrive performance pack, and i reckon you could pick one up for less than 7K.
They are of course not a touch on the s4 for build quality or refinement/spec but they are 4wd and a hoot to drive.

Ahh man... this is the first I have seen on here I think :( - really sorry to hear mate. As said above I hope that no one was injured. Good luck with the hunt for a new car. I can understand the need for something different, be hard pushed to find something as good a all-rounder as the S4. Hope 2007 brings better fortune for you than the end of 06.

Cheers and good luck
Leon

Sounds to me like it'll be a CAT D. Worth buying it back, even if you break it.

Buy back and sort it out. Prob only needs a jig and it will be straight. I have had 4 written off cars and my s4 is one of the only cars that was not a write off. I was looking for one but could not find one. Well worth buying it back as jigging can only cost around £300 - £500.

Was very lucky with mine-hit front drivers side corner by skip wagon that carried on and took the whole side out-all the windows down that side smashed and scared the sh*t out of me! Damage was around £8.5k and the insurance wrote it off but i fought them tooth and nail and finally got them to fix it! Unfortunately also hit a deer so 0 no claims, 6 points, and the renewal policy has jumped from £890 fully comp to....wait for it....£2950!! OUCH!!
Not selling it though...THEY will not win!
