Newbie on Deck.

Post by jasosta » Thu Mar 06, 2003 6:33 pm

I am new to the board and to Audi. I have recently purchased a 2000 S4 with 15k miles. I am interested in chipping it and I have a few questions. I am fairly handy with cars, can this be done by myself or do I need to take it somewhere to have done for any reason? What are the top 3 chips that you recomend? I have been told that ABT ships are really good and I found a site called stratmosphere.com to get them from. Any one have thoughts about that?

Also how long do your seats take to heat up?

Thanks for your help.....J

welcome aboard

about 5 minutes for the heated seats, i guess maybe longer if it is really cold

As for chipping i believe a few people could do it themselves but I personally had mine chipped by a reputable company who rolling road tested it before and after, with alterations to suit my car

That way i felt safe that it was done properly

I am ot sure states side who is available

lets see if anyone else knows

Thanks for the reply.

I chipped my Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 myself. It was very easy and really only took 10 min. I have a feeling Audi is a little more technical than Jeep though.

Any other thoughts? Thanks

AUDIZINE is a very good US based forum http://www.audizine.com/ majority go for APR but ABT do a good deal.

There is a company called REVO here who are breaking through with a different way of ECU upgrading that has the potential to be superb. Browse the recent threads there is loads on info available.

And welcome ...
