Just bought one a few days ago. Need recommendations for good servicing in the North East that doesn't involve Audi dealer labour charges. They quoted me £70 + VAT for an oil change (1 hr labour). And that's with me supplying the filter and Mobil 1!

All suggestions welcome...

Also...the 'INSP' service is due (currently at 105k miles). What exactly is required for this service? Is it normally just fluid checks + oil/filter change?

Thanks in advance...

just the normal stuff, cambelt, pulleys, ect. the belt is the important bit, other than that or a long drive find a local specalist. the INSP light is just a service, dont give it 2 the local audi. there dumn as!

Hi and welcome. you made a smashing choice in choosing your motor! what year / specs did you get?

Where abouts in the North East are you? It's a big place!

it's a 98 S plate, 105k miles, 2 previous owners, standard spec apart from K&N, RS4 18s, Eibach Pros and a couple of subtle internal mods.

a couple of pics available here:

the north east is indeed a big place but i'm happy to travel within it to find a decent, reputable mechanic to undertake servicing. i'm based in the newcastle area.

Nice pics mate. looks well.

There is a VW specialist in Pocklington, East Yorkshire. (about 15miles west of York) he is very good with Vw's / Audi's but im sure there is someone nearer just as good, if not better. hence why i asked your location.

Welcome newbie, from a failry newbie.

How are you enjoying the car so far? Like me, have you floored it, enjoyed the power, smiled and then felt gutted cuz you've seen the petrol gage drop in free-fall

I like the look of the car - almost went for a Noggy Blue saloon myself, but then changed mind at last minute and went for an Avant.
