I'm sure I read somewhere in a previous post, that the airbag warning system is prone to lighting up on A4s? Any of you had previous with this?
The light came on whilst driving last week, have checked what I can and all seems well. Someone was saying a few days ago that airbags have to be changed periodically. True? The car is a Jan '99
(or is it simply a highly intelligent early warning module that's trying to tell me I'm gonna rear end someone soon....?!)
Resisting taking it to a main dealer, as it will be an engine out job, a new body shell & 4 new wheels..... (cynic)

Get someone local to check it on vag-com it might be the seat airbags which are down to the connectors under the seat

RE: Airbag warning light
Mike, I thought it might be connectors too - checked them and couldn't find anything. The light came on last week, and this week I've had all the leather (and door cards) connolised (absolutely superb by the way - it's light grey and was in poor condition with minor cracks & a big rip on 1 of the panels on the rear seat. It cost £300 incl, and it looks, feels & smells brand spanking new!! - will post the company's details if anyone's interested?).
Anyway I digress, to do the leather they had to take out the front seats, so I had hoped that when they put everything back together again that the light would have gone out. But no, it's still smiling at me in an expensive looking red glow....

Did you check it on vagcom?
You have to reset the fault, even if the seats are plugged back in
