Quick oil question
Quick oil question
Hi guys,
Just having brakes changed tomorrow morning and while its in the garage need to get an oil change done.
Not got much time so just wanted to know whats best for a high miler S4 oild wise.
Im running approx between 330 and 350 on a stage 2 + MRC remapped car. HAs 120,000 miles on it, is a Vreg face lift model.
Should i use the oil the cars used all its life . Its had audi main dealer long life service, using long life 3 oil which is 5w 30.
Ive been told this is not the best oil for the engine and i should revert to 0w 40 mobile synthetic. Is this the better option.
Just for information, i do a lot or town driving. So whats best?
Thanks guys.

Cheers
Does any one know method of changing oil
Im gonna get oil filter changed. gonna pick one up from audi before 5 today.
Im not sure about getting the engine flushed however. Do I have to flush the oil out, or just have it drained. If so what flushing agent has to be used?
Cheers for the replies guys.

RE: Quick oil question
Just remove the sump plug and let the oil drain out, better when the oil is warm. Remove the filter and fit new one, put sump plug back in and fill with new oil.
Change every 5k miles and no need to flush

Probably too late now, but the sump plug is a DISPOSABLE item which should be replaced each time. I guess it's not a catastrophe to reuse it, but for the cost (less than a quid IIRC) it makes sense to replace it.

Just got back from oil change.
You guessed right dippy. It was reused. Whats the downside in reusing it?
Where can i get one from for next time?
Changing from 5w 30 to 0w 40, it might just be me, but the car definitely seems quicker and more economical. mpg was holding at about 17 ish local driving rather than 15 ish.
Any thoughts?
Main dealers?
