bulkhead drain??

hi all,

any one know where the drain for the bulkhead is ??
gave the motor a wash and found bulkhead to almos full of water!!!!
managed to drain most out through heater pipe`s grommet but cant see the drain , so i can cure to prob.. prob a large amount of leaves..

any help will be appreciated ,,cheers dave :?

just disvovered the same problem. Is there a drain point under the battery or somewhere?

i think it's under the servo, it certainly is on the passat which has the same layout. a right pig to get to.

There are two, one under battery tray, the other near servo, give them a good clean out, clean all the sludge from the rubber drains and the general area, or you will find yourself with a foot spa.

Problem now solved. Remove the pollen filter and surrounding plastic trim, disconnect the battery and then remove the retaining clamp to lift the battery out. You cannot lift the battery out with the plastic trim in place around the pollen filter. Once the battery is removed, there is a rubber grommet below. Pull out the grommet and give it a good clean. Mine was full of gunk and totally blocked. Then get a wire coat hanger and gently prod it into the other grommet which is under the brake server. This saves having to remove the brake items. Finally flush with water to make sure it is clear.

To finish the job off replace all the battery etc, and put a new pollen filter in. They are only £10, so it's worth doing whilst you are there.

Good to know, my bulkhead drain got blocked under the ECU.....instant foot spa.
