RE: 19" 112 x 5 x et 50 - Would these fit my S4?
i would imagine these may rub on the inside of the suspension shocker/spring? or caliper? due to the mounting of the wheel being further to the outside of the wheel, what width are they? you might get away with 19 * 8, like on the back suspension the double wishbone is very close to the inside of my 19" wheels, i might be wrong though
id imagine rubbing while cornering if lowered, is the car lowered?
My front calipers are so close to my spokes on the rs6 wheels as i have no spacers but the ET has allowed them to fit just over the brakes, Doug and Mihnea always laugh when they see my front wheels

All I would need is a spacer then right? Say 10mm spacer?

I would say yes. How wide are the rims? ET50 (I think, someone correct me if I am wrong) means the centreline of
the wheel is 50mm behind the hubface (i.e. inboard).
Use this:
http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp
A conservative estimate of your rims width (8J) indicates that the wheel will be 18mm
more inboard (i.e. closer to the strut). Most 19's are 8.5 so you are probably looking
at more like 24mm less clearance.

i think the number is the offset from the centre of the hub mostly being positive? so the hub mounting is 50mm from the centre of the wheel towards the outside face which means the inside of the rim would be 15 mm inside than that of a et35 wheel with the same width?
just seen the post before after i wrote this
thats a cool link by the way
good calculator

So with a 15mm spacer it would bring the wheel about 6mm out and it would sit about 6mm closer to the strut etc. A 20mm spacer would bring it out 11mm and the wheel would be 1mm closer to the strut.
Is it adviceable to have this bit a spacer?

I agree with the comments above - I think you would have problems with these wheels.

Would spacers not sort it? These have come off a B7 S4.

They would, but they might need to be quite large (15-20mm?), and then you would need to consider whether the wheels still sit inside the arches...ZeroK66 wrote:Would spacers not sort it? These have come off a B7 S4.

Surely an et50 wheel with a 15mm spacer is the same as an et35 wheel in everyway? The design of the wheel is not going to change?CliveH wrote:They would, but they might need to be quite large (15-20mm?), and then you would need to consider whether the wheels still sit inside the arches...ZeroK66 wrote:Would spacers not sort it? These are a set of BBS CH's
My only concern of course would be a set of wheel bolts long enough... but again sure they would be available.

The first part is correct - ET50 wheel with 15mm spacers will effectively give you a wheel with an offset of 35.
However, you also need to take account of the shape of the inside of the spokes and manufacturing tolerances of the wheels (which should be very fine on BBS of course) in terms of clearance of the calipers. If you need to go to 20mm to achieve this, you might have a problem with the arches.
You will indeed also need longer bolts - and of the correct radius for the wheels - I know a man who can supply these.

Nice, well if I can get the wheels at a good price - then I will do it.
Currently I ahve standard brakes on teh car - given the wheels are 19" - I am sure clearance shoulnt be an issue anyway. The CH's have pretty flat spokes.
Clive - I may be in touch
Cheers all

As mentioned above, the only sure way is to offer up a wheel - could be an expensive excercise.
You'll probably manage with 10 or even 5mm spacers with the standard brakes, but if you're thinking about upgrading the brakes too, you won't know how it works out until you get the new brakes on.
