To Tint Or Not To Tint???

Post by s4-99 » Sun Jun 11, 2006 11:36 am

What are peoples views on window tinting? I'm thinking of having it done, not limo black or anything drastic like that, just a nice smoked tint. I cant make my mind up. Any views or pics would be appreciated.

Thanks

Duane.

I think it makes the car look good. Fronts a little less tinted so it does not look too chav or illegal, I think my windows are tinted slightly from the factory?

If done properly it looks good, find some local places and drop round and take a look at their work. They should be able to show you what levels of tint are legal and advise you accordingly.

Done by a professional - yes will look the proverbials.

Just remember the legalities regarding the fronts - if you take the p**s with the law on tints then expect more attention from plod.

Saw a B5 RS4 few months back with what im sure must have been close to 100% tint on fronts - could not see the driver at all ( in daylight). Wouldnt expect they had stayed on very long. Your just giving some bored copper an excuse to hassle you.

Wouldn't have it any other way. It is illegal to have any tint on fronts in Estonia unfortunately. Some light tinting might make the overall looks better.
