My 1999 S4

Post by Pherral » Mon Apr 17, 2006 4:11 pm

Hi, my first post and i have finaly got an S4! but....

I have been looking through the forums for a while and decided to stop looking and start buying. After checks lots of garages and sites for a car i finaly decied on a Green S4, slightly high milage but within my budget! The test drive went well and I bought it on saturday. All went well until i got it home. My brother and me where sorting a few bits inside the car when a friend arrived and asked to look under the bonnet and commented on what a beast of an engine it was :)

2 hours later we set of to the cinema and 1 mile away from home I discovered that my friend did not close the bonnet properly cos it flipped up and smashed itself of my windscreen.........managed to stop it safely thankfully........thought i was going to cry.

So windscreen to be replaced tomorrow and bonnet if i have enough money sometime this week will be replaced too.

Not a great start but I am determind to keep going. Love the car

:)

I'd be getting the "friend" to at least put his hand in his wallet as a contribution - not because he has to (thta's your own fault!), but as a goodwill thing!!

VERY bad luck though

Ooops, sorry to hear about that, welcome to the site and as suggested elsewhere, a wanted post in the for sale/wanted forum may net you a second hand bonnet.

Thankfully and the damage was to the windscreen and the bonnet. No damage to the roof or to the um....word fails me....bits either side of widscreen oh but a nick each side on the wings.

Is it metallic? If it is, you should get the bonnet painted in situ and flicked off both wings.

To fade a metallic paint out when doing a repair, you should paint adjacent panels to fade the colour in. I'm no painter, but my bro is, and he knows his stuff!!

He knows you know - it's the only way to do metallic properly.
