Picked her up on Saturday morning from Fontain...and keep finding more and more excuses to go driving...am going to France on wednesday for the day
Photos of cars old and new can be found:

- the 'special' plate came with the Audi, and I'm too lazy to change it, despite 'TFC' meaning nothing to me
am really really happy with it so far..and can't wait for the nurburgring trip in august that I'm going on with a bunch of people from seatcupra.net to happen

Nice looking car, S4 badge on the boot looks a little low.

cheers!
just got back from france...300 miles for the day's driving, and still feel fresh...them recaros rock!
Can't wait for the ring...am just wondering if I should do anything to it prior to going...well other than maybe a trip to Revo...
sensible head says no...get used to the car first.
silly head says it would be more sensible to upgrade brakes (and thus fit bigger lighter wheels), suspension and intercoolers, to ensure I get the most from this years experience.
silly head number two says no...use that money to fund a second ring trip this year.
hmm.

Dunno what you have driven round the ring before, but as narrow and as busy as it is, the S4 will most likely be plenty fast enough.

Standard is fine. If you don't do more than 2 laps consecutively your brakes should be okay, but they are the first things I would suggest upgrading, even if its just pads. Ideally rotors and pads. If you have the budget, calipers too, but I believe this is less important...
See brake threads...

cheers.
as one of the first things on my ibiza I upgraded were brakes (to brembos), this was something I'd had at the back of my mind, even though from fast road driving the S4's brakes seem pretty good.
I'll search the forums, and ponder what to do...its probably sensible to just upgrade pads for now, and then upgrade wheels/tyres and disks (current ones have lots of wear), and calipers as they wear out.

If you want a custome remap, Mihnea (MRC) is your man.
For bigger wheels, the S4 B6 18" wheels look great, in keeping with the car, and give you a wider track.

hrm. the modding lark I got addicted to with my Ibiza is hard to shake off...
In the space of 5 weeks after getting it, and saying what I said above, I've given in to the voices in my head and got:
- revo remap. (currently running boost 6/timing 7 set by my sps3)
- porsche 993 turbo brakes on the front
- new oem rear brakes (old ones were worn)
- h&r coilovers
- new tyres all round (yoko AVS Sports)
- cruise control.
- forge 007dvs
all apart from the revo-ing which was done at Revo a few weeks ago, was done at AMD...who delivered it back to the hotel I was staying at, with work last friday.
Wish I could have gone on the group buy for the H&R suspension, but I wanted to ensure that all was ready in plenty of time for my 'ring trip this weekend. Besides AMD did the work for a competitive price, and to a high standard
a couple of photos here:
http://photo.ing.me.uk/S4
- back looks very low in that, this is because of the old brakes sitting in the boot...but even still I think after the ring trip, I'll maybe raise it slightly - improved suspension was to help it go round corners.
And, I'm very happy with the Revo code - by not turning the boost right up,, and running decent timing, I'm getting good power (maf readings seem about 230g/s), considering the exhaust is standard, and the car is not getting hot after prolonged used, and the power is progressive...it just keeps going.

MAF readings seem low if it is modded

I get 265g/s with revo, boost setting at 6 and timing at 6, fuel at 1. I'd say 230g/s is low. Thats more like std values. IMO

hrm
assuming that with the 2.7T you can multiply maf readings by 1.3 to get an approximate power like you can on the 1.8T.... 265g/s ~= 345bhp, and 230g/s ~= 299bhp.
I figure 299bhp is about right, as with me living in london, before I get to do any datalogging, I've a 30min+ drive through traffic, thus meaning the car gets a little warm, plus I've not got timing/boost set to as high as they can....
am taking laptop, vagcom, and gprs card to germany, so will do some datalogging on the drive over, and see if I can get the values to read any higher
am currently getting very next to no correction factor from logging blocks 020 and 021, so there is probably some room for playing still.

I'm not convinced there is a direct 1.3x comparison but I reckon my car to be running about 330bhp which is not uncommon. Revo's own figures are approx 315bhp, but that is on default boost setting of 6, so with playing with some timing, fuelling and filters, tight pipe's all round, cold air temp, efficient intecoolers etc, you could easily get 330bhp....I think a few others on here have the same if not better. Having said all that...its not he power increase but the torque that puts the big smile from ear to ear....

I'm seeing around 250-255 which I think is a bit low, so I'll find out what happens after my service. I once recorded 280 but am now doubting it should have ever got that high.
