Hi there
I am about to complete the Custom set up with K04-K16 turbos. Do you know if the Chips that are sold today are able to stop the EPC function that backs the timing and boost, when both of them are not in the permited OEM range.
My car is currently running fantastic with this Piggyback (unichip) but the EPC is going crazy with the timing and boost that is currently running. There are various "holes" in the acceleration.
When I put down the boost and timing the car runs smoothly.
Any thoughs?
Thanks

I am sure Mihnea and Lee at MRC could come up with something ................

That's funny, last time I spoke to an Unichip dealer, he said they don't like Unichipping DBW cars, as the ECUs are too smart to tolerate any messing with them... and now they have a new module... lol...
Hope it works out for you, otherwise, I'm sure there's plenty of tuning companies that could take appropriate care of your problems...
HTH,
Mihnea

Mihnea
Actually thew are still trying to solve the problem. The dealer was able to make an stock S4. Let 's see how it goes with my car.
What does DBW means?
Best Regards

RE: EPC & ECU programing issues.
Specifically it refers to the throttle plate control. In non DBW cars there is a mechanical link between the accelerator pedal and the throttle. Have you ever had a car before where you could rev the car by pushing a lever next to the carburettor?
On the later S4s the accelarator pedal has two devices called variable resistors which are wired to the ECU. There are 2 so that the ECU can check for errors. So the ECU knows where the pedal is and will control the throttle plate directly using an electric actuator. The advantage is that it can provide more advanced control of the engine than the older system (cutting revs when the brake pedal is push being an obvious example).
P.S. sorry if you knew this already.
