Has anyone had this problem were all brakes remained applied on the car. Initially it felt like the handbrake was on but the more I used the brake to the harder they clamped and I had to use the full torque of the motor just to move the car 1km from the shops to my house, where the problem first originated. The dealer towed towed the car to the workshop and I await what has caused this problem.
Can anyone shed some light as to the cause. The dealer wasnt going to speculate so I ask all you clever fellows as to what may have caused the problem?

Please help

Tony

It might just be one caliper thats seized - this is enough to make you think that all the brakes are locked on. Probably best to rebuild the pair of calipers on the same axle if it does turn out to be this.

Sounds like ABS unit.

I would get the fault codes read.
Firstly in the ABS, then read the "readyness codes" you may find a basic setting tesl incomplete.

The dealer diagnosed the fault as a crook master cylinder. I just got the car back a couple of hours ago ( the dealer had shut by then) only to find that the pedal almost goes to the floor to stop the car. I am thinking they did not bleed the brakes. Or is it something else. I drove it for 20 minutes but there was no improvement to pedal feel. Now I have to wait till Tuesday to start yelling.
After reading your replies , do you guys still think it is the abs unit that could be causing the long pedal travel?

Thanks for the help

Ps the car is daily driven
