Million dollar question.
1.3-1.2 seems fairly usual on an S4 (APR, MTM kits). However finding data is really hard. Very few dyno plots show boost against RPM. What does your AMD chip do?
I think the RS4 runs around 1.2-1.0 bar, it actually runs more boost higher up unlike the S4 which tapers off. Not sure what the chipped RS4s run. Hopefully someone from RS4 board will join in.

Have been told that my car has been set on 20 PSI, but this seems a bit high to me. what do people think.

How much power are you getting from your remap with such a level of boost?

Doesn't sound OTT, if a RS4 runs 1.2 in std trim. Suspect that chipped RS4s run 1.4, I believe Verrukt runs 1.5 on his S4, although he has hybrids and flowed heads and cams.
Got any VAG com (003, 115) logs or Dyno runs?

Just realised in a couple of weeks our cars will be twins. Your K04 setup will be almost the same as mine. I'm having the RS4 oil cooler as well.

If you guys don't have a boost gauge then I am amazed. I only have mild tuning compared to you and I wouldn't be without it.
1.4 bar is perfectly fine for K04s (as long as you have your APR bipipe!).

Do have a boost gauge and APR bi-pipe, Goes to 20psi on launch then backs off to about 16 PSI I think.

Get a metric one then
That's the same as mine, so I suggest your map is conservative.
