Just had this email from Fontain:
"Just a quick e-mail, there are no H&R coil springs in the country for your car. We can get bilsteins or koni or spaxs or eibach. There is a delivery of the springs after Christmas what do you want to do?"
What would people recommend? Am looking to lower the car by 30mm so that the RS4 replicas will look right and not make the car sit too high.
Any suggestions gratefully received. I am only changing the springs at this stage due to finances.

Try and get hold of a set of low mileage RS4 springs and shocks - seems like you're on a budget. You'll get a 20mm - 30mm drop. Install cost will be virtually the same as springs only, as the shocks have to come out of the car on the A4 range.
Anyone out there who's upgraded to GmbH stuff got a set lying around in the garage?
Nige.

RS 4 springs would do the trick but I'm not sure how they would respond with the S4 dampers chances are they would be ok. I fitted 2nd hand RS4 shocks n springs to my previous S4. The only odd thing that I noticed was that the rear sat slightly lower than the front. DavidR did the same but his fronts sat lower the rears. Very puzzling. However, it wasn't bad and we could have trimmed the springs if we were really bothered. But that involves fitting then checking let them settle for at least a couple of hours then removing.
