Differences between the K04-25 and the K04-26?

What are the differences between those two turbos? Those 026's seems to be more available, and I was thinking that if I buy two of 026's and cut the twisted part away. Is it then close enough to the 025 turbo?

Left and right old boy. As a general rule even part numbers are right hand side, odds are left. BUT THERE HAVE BEEN EXCEPTIONS.
Know what the Germans are like EH!

Only difference between the 25 and 26 is the compressor housing, wastegate and rotation of the housings. Cutting off the elbow on a 26 to use as a 25 won't work to hot. The way that wastegate has to sit to clear the exhaust manifold and stuff is pretty crucial. The turbine housing to bearing housing rotation is also a little different between the two, but that can be changed. The 25 also has a mounting bracket on the compressor housing clamp for one of the coolant lines.

Yes I know that those are left and right
Those look quite the same, and I looked from the engine that the wastegate could fit on the other side, but if it wont, it can be moved. But the right turbo on the picture looks more slanted than the left, so it wont fit straight between the exhaust manifold and downpipe? Am I right?

Sorry for being THICK but I can't see what your getting at.
These turbos are fitted in pairs, if you follow the factory guide lines, you order left and right which is distinguised by the odd and even number. These are then fitted to the removed engine, engine is bolted back in and away you go.
Why do you want to get two rights or two lefts then muller one to fit?
The turbos can be bought from VAG parts, I think I paid £550 each inc VAT. Why go to the hassell of modding them when they are both the same price?
If you have two of either left or right already then that is a different matter, but I would sell one on ebay, take a bit of a loss possibly and buy the correct one no matter how many left or rights may or may not be available.

I agree with morpheous....but a couple other notes....
Both the compressor housing and turbine housing can be moved by loosening the bolts and moving them.....however, they must remain in the same relation to each other because the wastegate must connect to both housings. If you spun the compressor housing say 90 degrees to get the wastegate to clear the exhaust manifold, it's not going to connect to the turbine housing anymore. Andl like i said before...there are brackets that bolt to the compressor housing that are not the same on both housings. Go buy one of each side.

Those turbos what I have seen have been so much cheaper (less than a 500€ each, that's 340£), so that's why I was thinking to buy two right ones and do some modifications. But anyway, it looks like that I'm getting used turbos (both) so I dont have to think this any more. But thanks for info anyway...
