Cr#p start to the day

Post by jonno1 » Tue Oct 26, 2004 9:49 am

Come out of my front door to find some #+@£# has decided to park his enormous 7 series beemer on my front bumper  . Its cracked and scraped. The irony is his rear bumper is covered in parking sensors and the paint from other cars!!

As I have no clue who owns this car I cant do anything (other than take revenge  which I have decided against). Anyone got any good tips for filling in small cracks, touching up paint and removing paint scrapes from other cars? Chipsaway in London would want an arm and a leg so, as its not in a really prominent place (and is likely to get hit again) I thought I could get away with some DIY repair work - I am reasonably handy but just wondered if anyone has any good tips or do's and don'ts from personal experience.

Thanks in advance.

Do get a pro to do the repair. personal experience tells me that if you make a mess it'll be more costly in the end. I would have photographed the car(s) and gone to the police with his reg no, the guy has been involved in an RTA as there is damage to your car. As a result he should have informed them and left his insurance details. At least that way you'd have got the car repaired free of charge to you....just my personal thoughts..

Contact the DVLA with the registration. If you have good reason (and pay £2.50) they'll provide you with the details of the registered keeper of the car.
