Hi All,

Does anyone know what plugs a dealer would put in the car at a service? Does it vary if the car is on the longer service intervals?

Are there any recommended plugs to use?

If the car has been remapped, is it advisable to use a colder plug?

Thanks
Julian.

I changed the plugs on my old S4 and fitted NGK's because they were much cheaper than the Audi ones at about £6 each.

When i took the old plugs out they had the usuall Audi part number but also the NGK number.

NGK make the plugs for Audi to fit to these cars so go and buy a set and save youself a fortune on the Audi price (sorry but i cant remember the part number)

ETKA says the S4 uses PFR6Q which is the NGK code.
This is the same plug as used the in the S3's and 4 motions.
Interesting that the RS4 NGK part number is not listed in ETKA and the Audi part number is different to that of the S4.
However, the NGK site confirms that the RS4 and S4 use the same plug - PFR6Q.

Confirm with an Audi dealer of the NGK part number and go with that.

Gents,

Thanks for the reply.

I had already checked various plug suplier websites and was hoping that it was NGK that suplied the originals to Audi. When I did a search on the NGK website it recommended the following:

BKR6ES - Standard
BKR6E - V-Power
BKR6EGP - G Power Platinum
PFR6Q - Laser Platinum
BKR6EIX - Iridium IX

For the RS4 they quote PFR7Q which would make sense as the RS4 runs much more power, this is why I would have thought it would be advisable to use these plugs in a remapped S4?

Looks like I'll be ordering a set of PFR's........
