Picked up my 98 S4 after its 60k service to be told there is a fault with the fuel gauge (there was no fault when it went in), sure enougth i drove down the road and the gauge is jumping around all over the place. It only seems to do this when accelerating and driving. At tickover, freewheeling and reving at standstill it returns to its correct position.
To make matters worse i get 100 yards down the road and the speedo packs in, i would have gone straight back but was running late already.
Phoned the dealer when i got in and they seem to think its an electrical fault that coincedently happend! but they will have a look at it if i take it down in the morning.
First off where do i stand (official Audi dealer), could they have upset something whilst servicing, anyone had either of these problems before and in the worst case how much is a new instrument cluster?
I'll keep you updated and cheers for any help
Jim
