I love my S

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like every other car on the road now is a BMW. I live in South london and every car i drive past is a beemer. And not wanting to offend anyone who owns a beemer but is there a certain type of a**hole mentality that they also give you along with the car when you go buy one?
Some guy in a bmw was trying to get in front of me in the fast lane of the A3. There was no need for him to be so close to my bumper. He did the usual cut into the middle lane to try and overtake, to no avail, right up close to my rear end, lights flashing. I had someone in front of me, what the hell did he expect me to do, drive over the guy in front??? <beep>!
Well, when the car in front of me moved over i felt quite happy that i didnt go for a beemer and instead went out and found a quality s4 for half the price of a new 318. It felt even better when i let loose the 320 horses under my bonnet. Yeehah!
I had another beemer flash his lights at me when i joined the fast lane once. I know i was doing the same speed as him as he wasnt getting any closer to me when i was in the middle lane. He must have seen the car in front of me approaching me quickly in the middle lane and so decided to accelerate, not decelerate to let me in, that bastad!. On his first flash i was about 10 mtrs away from his front end on his second flash it felt like i was a mile away. Hehe, just watched him drop back into the middle lane.
Ah, the joys of "S" ownership.

How did you do your signature Sash

Hi Simon,
I used Adobe Photoshop. You can do it in any version of PS or any photo editing packages that has a (gaussian) blur filter
For Photoshop:
1. trace round the edge of the car with the lasoo tool with a feather of about 5px. Get as close as possible to the edge (using the Zoom tool sometimes help get close)
2. "Select Menu > Modify > Contract" and contract the selection by about 2px. (Depends really on how close you traced)
3. "Select Menu > Inverse"
4. "Filter menu > Blur > Gaussian blur" and then use the Gaussian blur filter quite heavily.
It was something like this i think
This may have been a bit more info than you required but hey if anyone else is interested there you go.

Sash,
I know what you mean, I think we've all had similar experiences.
However remember that it's not the 'fast lane' it's the 'overtaking lane'. Maybe there's a bit of the BMW driver in you?

Hi Simon, I uploaded the image to my gallery then went to the profile section by clicking the "Profile" link just under the header. Then used BCC codes to put the image in my signature. Hope this helps
Dippy you're kinda right, theres a wannabe M3 csl driver in me trying to get out but my wife keeps bashing him back in. She tells me i cant afford it but every time i mention that i should be able to get a good price for her kidneys on ebay she doesnt seem to wanna listen.
I think if i could afford an M3 CSL I would welcome my new a**hole personality with open arms

If i do have a bit of the BMW driver in me and a bit of Audi in me i suppose that makes me a consciencious a**hole right? Thats not too bad i suppose

Yes, whenever anything is slightly off or not right we should call it "a bit bmw"

It always takes a few attempts to get it right

vw_nutta, they are. I'll probably change the logo so you can see them better once i've washed the car properly and taken some decent photos.
The BBS are getting refurbed soon, came back from portugal to find my wheels scuffed up badly on the rims and a guilty looking wife. Just trying to find out about a decent place to take it to to get them sorted.

i just remembered i did another logo that i didnt like so much but it has a better shot of the alloys, you gotta wait for a while for the images to swap.
you can use the stop button on your browser to stop the animation

Sash,
You should think about getting a new exhaust system (free-flow cats) for your car. Pricey, but it does make a significant difference, especially at the top end.

Dippy,
I know I know, if it didnt cost so much (or if i wasnt married) i would already have one.
I do plan on going the K04 route eventually (may be in another 30-40k miles) which is why i have already asked about it when i have been at AMD and QST.
I like the fact that the miltek is not a boy racer exhaust either, sounds quite muted compared to others i have heard.
Have you thought about the K04 conversion for your car Dippy, seems thats the only place left for you to go, or is the Miltek that much of an improvement on top of a standard remap that you dont need to consider it?
PS have you rr'ed your S4 with the full miltek, if you did what kind of numbers are you pushing, before and after miltek?

got a miltek on mine, my mates have never ever been in a car thats soo damn fast but quite at the same time, I love it!
Had mine on AMD rr when I bought it off a member of this forum, its got MTM chip+Miltek exhaust (std cats) it recorded 304 bhp+358 torque.
I like the CHs but fancy getting some of the new S4 18's, I like the std audi look, only other thing I may swap to a RS4 grille.
